Zash is 21 years old, born a few years after the Crescent Isles’ rediscovery and raised in the uneasy calm between the gods’ silence and the war with Tethyr. He lives in a modest apartment above the family business in the island city of Ilamora, the Crescent capital. His home smells like parchment, ink, sea salt, and carefully rationed secrets.

Zash is the only child of Abinnas el Dimnei, a respected Crescent publisher and bookseller. Their shop, Dimnei & Daughters (est. posthumously), deals in:
- Educational scrolls
- Civic records
- Trade manifests
- Historical ephemera
To the public, Zash assists in restoration, cataloging, and translation, occasionally delivering rare scrolls to scholars, archivists, and trade guilds.
🕵️ Secret Work (Inkshadows)
Behind the bookshelves, Zash serves as the youngest active agent of the Inkshadow—a rogue network of knowledge-keepers and information brokers descended from the original shipwrecked families.
His roles:
- Field recovery of lost documents or magical items
- Infiltration of Tethyrian-controlled sites, outposts, or vaults
- Assessment of high-value information (truths that could destabilize political or magical powers)
He has no official rank, but his access to the Dimnei ledger and training from his grandmother Yazmin grant him quiet authority.
